My writing is a process of rewriting, of going back and changing and filling in. In the rewriting process you discover what’s going on, and you go back and bring it up to that point. Sometimes you’ll just push through, indicate a scene or a character, leave a space, then go back later and fill it in.
JOAN DIDION
Most of us live in a condition of secrecy: secret desires, secret appetites, secret hatreds and relationship with the institutions which is extremely intense and uncomfortable. These are, to me, a part of the ordinary human condition. So I don’t think I’m writing about abnormal things… Artists, in my experience, have a very little centre. They fake. They are not the real thing. They are spies. I am no exception. ~JOHN LE CARRÉ
I have myself always been terrified of plagiarism—of being accused of it, that is. Every writer is a thief, though some of us are more clever than others at disguising our robberies. The reason writers are such slow readers is that we are ceaselessly searching for things we can steal and then pass off as our own: a natty bit of syntax, a seamless transition, a metaphor that jumps to its target like an arrow shot from an aluminium crossbow. ~JOSEPH EPSTEIN

Not every day will you have your best writing stuff. Some days you just don’t feel like writing. Take a break, recharge, take a walk. But if you can, write anyways and be less hard on yourself. Sometimes wonderful jewels of writing show up when you least expect them. #amwriting

“Writing is like building a house with bricks; you can set your story up anyway you want, one word at a time, and finally when you’re done you invite someone in.” -Nanette L. Avery #amwriting Keep Writing.

Writing doesn’t mean necessarily putting words on a sheet of paper. You can write a chapter while walking or eating.

Who is my mother?
She is a priceless entity – an eternal blessing
The biggest fish I ever caught and will ever catch
When I was a youngster – She had sleepless nights
And she knew all the lullabies.
Saying my panegyric is one of her hobbies
Growing up, she did a lot of things so that I won’t suffer
Many a time she would not eat
If I refused to eat.
She did a lot of herculean tasks because
she wanted to immortalize her name
By making me a future leader.
She put my feet on the right path because
She never wanted me to go astray
She taught me God’s commandments and
She told me to be an active Christ’s follower
Dear mum,
I’ve plucked out all the exquisite words I have in my dictionary
But failed to find the perfect word to describe your awesomeness
So, if I could I would edit the Bible to add my mother
As the SYNONYM OF THE HOLY SPIRIT
My mum is the best.

“Each of your characters in a novel should have a personal agenda or thing that the reader can hold on to. With a path that they alone are traveling, along with the one for the plot.” -Wrtr #amwriting #amediting #Writing.

Your gift to you as an author is you being able to create and read your story as you write it. Your gift to the reader is making sure it is edited and written so well it shines, so they can read it. #amwriting #amediting
